The Origin of the story:
Winnie -the-Pooh is the story of a real-life bear who lived in the London Zoo. Harry Colebourn, a Canadian soldier /veterinarian, bought the bear cub for $20 at a train station and named him Winnipeg Bear after the town of his childhood.
Winnie became the mascot for Harry’s troop — the second Canadian Infantry Brigade.
Winnie was the most popular animal at the London zoo.
The boy, Christopher Robin & his dad A. A. Milne, loved to visit the bear & named his teddy bear after Winnie adding Pooh, after the name of his friend’s pet.
