For fear of Nightmares or ghosts!

I read the article by Charles the Scientist to understand the science behind nightmares.

Strange things happen to me when I sleep in the dark. For example, I have night terrors & I believe a ghost visits me.

I have had this issue for many years.

So if I sleep with the light on, the terrors do not occur.

Here is what I experience:

In my most profound slumber, I wake up feeling an enormous weight on my chest, I struggle to move & try to scream, but no sound comes out. I am completely paralyzed!

It feels like someone is sitting on top of my chest & stifling me. The hardest part is I cannot scream or move!

I have no idea how long this feeling lasts, but it is sheer terror! Then, when the pressure is finally released, I feel relieved but scared. There is no cold sweat, only a parched mouth & a cold nose.
