Unbelievable cruelty!

Ota’s wife and children had been murdered by the Force Publique, a militia group established by King Leopold II of Belgium to control the natives in Congo. Shortly after the murder of his wife and children Ota was captured by slave traders and sold to Samuel. Ota’s life was seemingly one tragedy after the next.
