Gossip & rumors can destroy a person’s self-confidence and affect their self-esteem. In addition, it can lead to depression, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, and anxiety.

Gossip & rumors alienate friends, ruin reputations & lead to relational aggression.

We know that rumors are spread from person to person and change slightly, becoming exaggerated & altered each time someone else repeats them.

Today, 15year-old Jamie is dead. She committed suicide by slashing her wrists & arms & bleeding to death. The untrue rumors & verbal bullying at her school resulted in her demise.

Rumors of her sexual misconduct with several male teachers proved to be false. She was a top student in all her classes. Jealousy led to bitterness & hatred of Jamie, leading to this tragic event!

How to Prevent the issue:

Source of Prevention is from an article by Sherri Gordon-medically reviewed by Anne Louise Lockhart, PsyD, ADPP — July 30, 2021. She writes;

‘The best way to help your child from being the talk of the school is by educating them & taking steps to manage their online reputation. For example, use dynamic filtering & monitor what they put online. In addition, mental & physical health counseling is preventative. Finally, parents & school teachers should address the situation right away to cope in healthy ways, which can prevent a lot of heartache in the end.’

Thank you, readers, for reading my article.
