The Hanging of Skippy.
A False Alarm.
The neighbor’s boy panics:
He abruptly dropped his bicycle, clattering it against the pavement.
In a frenzied state, he sprinted towards my front door, his voice filled with urgency. “Lady, lady—a cat is hanging itself on your back fence!”
Reacting swiftly, cell phone in hand, I hurriedly made my way through the back door.
As I stepped outside, in the warm rays of the afternoon sun, With my phone tightly gripped in my hand, I scanned the area, and my eyes were drawn to Skippy’s head peering above the fence. “Skippy, are you alive?” I called out, my voice tinged with concern.
At that moment, her head vanished from sight, only to reappear at the side of the fence moments later with wide eyes fixed on me, a mixture of curiosity and fear.
I took a photo with my phone, calling Skippy to come out.
