Thank you for an important article, George. As an NP, assessments for PHA & PDHRA military deployments, the handgrip tests for each soldier are always included. It is an essential test to assess mobility and strength of the soldier. I worked with deployment health for several years. If their grip strength decreased the soldier would be referred to specialists to rule out sarcopenia, arthritis, and a range of health issues which may cause the soldier to be non-deployable.
