OTTER SCIENCE FACTS:
1. Otters live on every continent except Antarctica & Australia.
2. There are 13 otter species, ranging from the small-clawed otter to the giant otter.
3. All otters are strong swimmers classified as semiaquatic, aquatic, marine, and river otters.
4. Otters are an essential keystone species.
5. They help control the sea urchin population and in turn, fewer sea urchins help prevent kelp forests from being overgrazed.
