I receive a call from my neighbor:

Mrs. Williams, my neighbor, called me for help because she was in a difficult situation after her foot surgery. She asked me to collect her mail from her mailbox and bring it to her home. I agreed to take care of this simple task for her.

At 4:30 PM, I rang Mrs. Williams’ doorbell to deliver her mail.

18-year-old Sophie:

Teary-eyed Sophie, Mrs. Williams’s teenage daughter, meets me at the door & invites me in.

Mrs. Williams sat on her sofa, her foot raised on a cushion, as I approached her with the mail.

Out of concern for the sad and crying daughter, I asked Mrs. Williams if Sophie was sick and if I could help.

The mother gently encouraged Sophie to open up about her troubles.

With tears and a heavy heart, Sophie found the courage to speak.
