Mayli tells the story of her love & relationship with Shaggy, her bearded dragon.
It has been a year since he left this earth, but Mayli remembers his friendly cuddles, eating from her hand & crawling up to sit on her lap or shoulder.
Teary-eyed with sadness in her voice, she tells how he scanned the room looking for her & crawling up on her pillow at night to be near her head.
Shaggy left the earth at the ripe old age of 16 years. Mayli & all his animal friends mourned his passing.
Most Bearded dragons live for 10 to 12 years. But, shaggy hung on as the love in this house was so strong, it propelled him to absorb all the comforts from his family.
She writes even though he was a cold-blooded animal, he had a warm heart for her, her dogs & her cat.
When Mayli left home for her training, she asked her grandparents to care for her animals. Her grandparents said Shaggy refused to eat or enjoy splashing in his pool. Instead, he would stare out the window waiting to see Mayli come home. But, once he saw her face on a FaceTime text to her grandparents…
