Kangaroos are indigenous to Australia!

The red kangaroo is the largest of all kangaroos, & the largest terrestrial marsupial/mammal native to Australia.

The red kangaroo is the largest extant marsupial in the world!

How did the kangaroo get its name?

The word kangaroo is derived from ‘Gangurru’- the name of the Eastern Grey Kangaroos by the Guuga Yimithirr people of Far North Queensland.

Kangaroos are of cultural and spiritual significance to Aboriginal people across Australia.

Aboriginal Australians are various Indigenous peoples of the Australian mainland and many of its islands, like Tasmania, Fraser Island, Hinchinbrook, Tiwi & Groote Islands.
