Johanna's Happiness!

She studies the human mind & behavior.

Happiness is a brand-new baby sister for Teagan - the author's picture.

Johanna, my neighbor's daughter, is excited about her college classes in psychology. It is her second year at college.

She visits with me today, & I tell her I would love to hear all about her studies & college life."

So the giggly 20-year-old Johanna sits beside me on my porch. She tells me about her love for learning.

She begins by saying she understood the lectures would be about abnormal states of the mind like studies on behaviors, such as what makes people anxious, sad, and depressed & how to change these emotions. But instead, she says,

“Guess what? The first series started with lectures on,

What is happiness? & why are some folks happier than others?

They call the subject positive psychology!

Mrs Price our professor informs us that,it was after World War II that psychologists Eric Fromm and Abraham Maslow focussed on the science of happiness to help folks lead a fulfilling & meaningful life.

The instructor tells us that Martin Seligman, is the father & developer of modern positive psychology.
