Here is the response.

We have egg-laying, free-range chickens on the farm. They provide fresh eggs daily. We know some tricks to keep our brood healthy!

OREGANO!

Why Oregano?

Oregano is a herb from the mint family. It is an aromatic plant related to marjoram. We use fresh or dried Oregano leaves as a culinary herb.

A Historical aspect of Oregano:

Medicalnewstoday.com reports that people have used Oregano for thousands of years to add flavor to dishes & to treat health conditions.

What does Oregano do for chickens?

Fresh or dried Oregano added to chickens' diet strengthens their immune system and guards against common poultry illnesses such as Salmonella, e-coli, infectious bronchitis, and avian 'flu.

Fresh chopped Oregano and dried Oregano are better for the chickens than commercial antibiotics. Besides, chicks & chickens love the herb!

About Oregano Oil:

Never dose chickens with pure Oregano oil!

Essential Oregano oil is the pure essence of the plant, which is steam distilled, making it super concentrated & potentially dangerous for the chickens.

Dilute the oil:

However, if you have an ailing hen, you may dilute one drop of VetRx Oregano oil in one gallon of drinking water for the sick hen. The Oregano oil has to be VetRX certified. It is the holistic way of treating a sick bird.

It is prudent to consult with your vet when using substances for poultry.
