When I think of you, my heart skips a beat!

I run to see you in my bare feet.

You are my world that keeps me alive.

If not for you, I couldn’t count five.

With you on my mind, I can take a whipping!

Then go back to cotton-picking.

My Massa says I am tough.

With you on my mind, I bear this stuff.

One day it will end & we will be free.

I will always love you from the sky to the sea!
