It has been claimed by some bookstore owners that the Bible is the most frequently stolen book from their shelves!
It is the most translated and printed Book of all time. But why would a book that contains high moral standards be desired by a person who steals?
There are some reasons to explain why people often steal the Book:
People believe the Bible should be free, so they take it. A high-quality Bible can be an expensive purchase. In the frenzy of holiday shopping, people steal for gifts. Some steal Bibles to sell on the internet or on the streets. However, people’s reasons for stealing copies of the Bible still violate the Eighth Commandment.
