Disgusting Flies!
Are they necessary?
Reminiscing back on my days as a nurse in Africa:
During visits to African mothers with infants of the Xhosa tribe in the townships, as we provide health services, it is not uncommon to witness the persistent presence of pesky flies buzzing around the delicate faces of the babies nestled on their mothers’ backs.
Why, Lord, are these disease-causing insects in such abundance? They are everywhere: on the food, dogs, cats, cattle, horses, and latrines. Not a place in this country without flies!
(Even Antarctica has the Belgica Midge wingless fly!)
Today, I will explain a little about flies: (YUK!)
There are more than 125,000 known species of flies.
Scientists have named 125,000 kinds (species) of flies.
