The Happy Cat Weed.

Catnip or nepeta cataria is a herb native to Southern & Eastern Europe, the Middle East & Central Asia.

Research shows that most cats, whether big or small adore this weed.

Catnip is related to the mint family. It triggers a euphoric neurological response causing excitement in some cats who sniff & eat it. The chemical nepetalactone replicates pheromones, giving cats the ‘feel good’ reaction. The sensation lasts for about ten minutes.

If you’ve ever seen a cat after sniffing catnip, their reaction is something to behold! They roll, flip, rub, meow, growl & then zone out!

But two of my cats will have no part of the weed. They ignore catnip-infused toys or scratch posts. I was flabbergasted!. I thought maybe they were sick.

Then I learn from my Vet that there are cats…
