…times, the silence of trauma circles back to me 
 like a muted song caught in a never-ending loop.
 I can hear the plaintive grief trapped and buried
 below the silence, begging for freedom.
 That’s when I pick up my pen and wail in poetry,
 releasing the suffering into healing words.
