A TRIED & TRUE TURKEY RECIPE.
Here it is:
If your goal is to make a moist, well seasoned, golden-brown turkey with crispy skin & juicy, tender flesh cooked to perfection, follow these steps;
The recipe is for oven roasting a 10-pound turkey. First, we stuff the turkey with pre-cooked stuffing to serve it with the roast.
Ingredients;
Salt & pepper to taste.
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted.
1 Tablespoon each of fresh chopped rosemary, thyme, & sage.
Two cloves of garlic minced.
Heat the roasting pan to 450 degrees Fahrenheit in the oven.
Season the turkey generously with salt & pepper.
Separate the skin from the breast gently with your fingers.
Mix the melted butter with the chopped herbs & garlic, then rub this mixture under the turkey's skin & all over the outside skin of the bird.
Place the turkey on an adjustable V-rack. Next, place the turkey in the hot pan in the oven with turkey legs facing the back of the oven.
Reduce the heat to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Roast the bird for 3 to 4 hours, spooning the brown butter that drips into the pan over the turkey every hour.
