Wisdom from a Christmas Eve Sermon.

The Preacher:

Tonight, at our Christmas Eve church service, our Preacher shared a poignant life story to encourage those with aging parents and family members to remember to call or visit them.

He shared a deeply moving story about his recent visit to administer the last rites to a deceased gentleman.

“Mr Bradley lost his battle against kidney failure two weeks ago. His wife asked me to come to the crematorium to say a few prayers before he was interned.

Because of the absence of other family members, I enquired if we should wait for them.”

My heart ached when the Minister shared the mournful lady’s heartbreaking words. This moment weighed heavily on all of us, stirring deep feelings of compassion and sorrow.
